Upon first glance Ryden’s work seems to mirror the Surrealists’ fascination with the subconscious and collective memories. However, Ryden transcends the initial Surrealists’ strategies by consciously choosing subject matter loaded with cultural connotation. His dewy vixens, cuddly plush pets, alchemical symbols, religious emblems, primordial landscapes and slabs of meat challenge his audience not necessarily with their own oddity but with the introduction of their soothing cultural familiarity into unsettling circumstances.  
Jenny Saville in my opinion takes fine art nudes to a higher level.
His intimate works of single subjects retain an unselfconscious mood as they gaze directly back at the viewer with an ambiguous melancholy, or perhaps apathy.
His work appears in galleries, children's books, magazines, newspapers, on websites, and in advertising.
A local Amarillo artist, born in Landstuhl Germany, 1960. Whose colors and concepts are genuwinly pleasing to the eye and mind. 
As a child, her interest in Faeries sprouted when she was introduced to the works of Arthur Rackham, Brian Froud and Alan Lee. Movies like The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, and Legend played large parts in developing Amy’s love of fantastical tales and mystical creatures. Over the years, various artists, books and films from the past and present added inspiration to her growing imagination and continue to do so.
